There have been 21 come backs from 2-0 deficits on the road in NHL history (211 opportunities), Ottawa may take comfort in the fact that they lost both games by one goal, but in both games they were completely out played. Since the second minute of the first game Ottawa has scored 1 goal on Giguere. Also interesting is the fact that 5 out of the amazing 16 shots in game two occurred on a minute long (bit more) 5 on 3, leaving 11 shots in 59 minutes.

Series: ANA - OTT
Hits: 66 - 49
Blocked: 26 - 42
Missed: 33 - 22
Shots: 63 - 36
Directed@Goal: 138 - 84

Ottawa has to be very different to win this series.

Each of the two Stanley cup teams played 10 games against the opposite conference, and here are the ten games. (Format: Record [Goal differential]: W-L OTW-OTL). I'm a firm believer in the concept that the west is significantly better than the east and the tables below bear witness. That is to say that the best western team does well against the east, but the best eastern team struggled against the west (-8 Goal differential in 10 games).

Great concept for a site. It's tough to get such unique looks at statistics and whatnot.

I'd like to exchange links -- or maybe even do more -- if you're down for it.

Check out my site at http://www.faceoff-factor.com, then email me at Defence21 AT aol DOT com (obviously replacing the At with @ and the DOT with .). Maybe we can work something out!
